Smudge The Spaniel
(Starting with Numbers)

Smudge the Spaniel (Staring with Numbers) is a versatile educational package in three parts to encourage early number skills - counting, reading, writing, ordering, addition and subtraction.

In WRITING NUMBERS children can trace around large numbers from 0 to 10 and count Smudge’s favourite toys for number recognition, counting and the written formation of numbers.

With DOT TO DOT, you need to help Smudge complete the outline of each picture by joining the dots from 1-10, 1-20 or 1-30. Once the outline has been completed, the picture can be coloured in.

With COUNT AND COLOUR, a picture is shown with blank areas containing sums. Children need to choose the colour that corresponds to the answer and floodfill the areas on the picture. the sums may be addition, subtraction, missing numbers (2 + ? = 5), and multiplication (2,5 and 10 tables).

Smudge the Spaniel includes animation of Smudge walking, barking and growling! There is on-screen help, a Control menu for teacher/parent control and the “Smudge marks” reporting section.
