A feast has been prepared for the governor of the Roman town, and your help is needed to share out the food amongst the guests. This will involve division sums, with remainders at citizen level and fractions at senator level.

When this demo version is used, the activity is always played at 'Slave' level, and there are four items which need to be shared by two guests. There is only one (and not four) questions before the reward is given.
This activity will reinforce children’s skills with fractions, division and remainders. It will also serve to show the type of food that was eaten in Roman Times.

| At slave level | easiest | the answer will be a whole number with no remainder |
| At citizen level | the answer will be a whole number with a remainder. Children will need to type in the whole number each guest receives and the remainder. | |
| At senator level | hardest | the answer will be a number and a fraction (such as 3 ½ ). Children will need to type in the whole number and the top part of the fraction. When a number is typed in, the cursor will move onto the other number. Pressing the return key will cause the program to test whether your answer is correct or wrong. |
If the answer typed in is wrong, children have another two tries. The food for four courses need to be shared between the guests before you can receive any just desserts, in the form of rewards!
Clicking on the help icon will give extra information about the division of numbers.
