Smudge Punctuates
SMUDGE PUNCTUATES will introduce
and reinforce basic punctuation skills and show that punctuation
makes written work interesting and enjoyable. SMUDGE PUNCTUATES
consists of three parts, each covering five different punctuation
marks:

For each of these punctuation marks, there is a reference section and activities.
The reference section explains how and why (with examples) each of the punctuation
marks is used. These tutorials include Cecily’s Rules, with clever, amusing
pictures to illustrate the meaning.
The activities include: FINDING PUNCTUATION MARKS where
children need to identify the missing symbols; and STORY
TO CORRECT, in which missing punctuation marks can be put
into a short story. The activities have three levels of difficulty
to suit a range of ages and abilities, and there is the Smudge Marks reporting
facility to monitor individual development.
The package is completed by 18 photocopiable worksheets
and three 8pp storybooks, to expand the learning beyond the
computer. SMUDGE PUNCTUATES takes the fear out and puts the
fun into a discipline which is essential to ensure an improvement
in the standard of written English.
