Smudge’s Literacy Collection
(First Words with Smudge)

The Literacy Collection is a collection of different activities to encourages children aged 4 years and above to develop and enjoy early word skills whilst working at their own pace.

The collection, featuring the award winning Smudge the Spaniel, is also suitable for use with interactive whiteboards and has been accredited as "Approved for SMART Board", and includes:

• Writing Letters to recognise letters from a to z
• Matching Letters
• a fun Jigsaw
• creating scenes in Make a Picture activities
• Fill the Gap where a word or sentence is shown with a missing letter or word and children select the missing letter beginnings, endings, blends (sh—, ch—)
• Complete the Words where shapes and words can be matched to pictures, and
• a children’s first Word Processor.

As an additional extra, the collection contains three activities taken from the Pairing program, a Move and Match activity for opposites; Multiple Choice for inital phonic sounds, and Link the line for short vowel sounds.
