The Calabash Pirates

The Calabash Pirates is an adventure program for 7-11 year olds, in which children take the role of pirates - Natty Nick, Soggy Sam, Lost Luke and Dagger Jack - looking for treasure on a tropical island.

The passage around the island is not as simple as it seems, and pirates can take part in nine different activities, each of which can be played at three levels of difficulty - Ship’s Cat, Captain or Buccaneer.

The activities are mathematical, geographical and historical puzzles requiring puzzle solving, decision making and planning skills to find solutions. The activities include RIDDLE OF THE SANDS (symbols), PATCH THE SAIL (symmetry), Tacking (angles), CALABASH ROAMIN’ (co-ordinates) and HISTORY QUESTIONS. each of these can be played time and time again.

A wide range of ages and abilities will be eager to work with The Calabash Pirates and will really gain from the activities in this excellent package. The Calabash Pirates is set in the time of the Tudors and Stuarts, in the time of Explorers, and will encourage children to investigate this period in history.
